When do you start registering students for classes ? 

Our September registration starts in late July or early August and our summer program registration is in late May or early June. We do have an open enrollment policy and do accept students though out the dance year as long as there are openings in the class.
At what age can my child start class ?

At the present time we do not offer a Mommy & Me class. Children at the age of 2 1/2 can attend the Beginners Children's Dance. We have an open enrollment policy through the entire year.
What do we do in the event of inclement weather ?

Please call the studio (215) 487-0787, one hour before your class, for a recorded message about closing. All missed classes due to inclement weather can be made-up at your convenience throughout the dance year. No adjustments to tuition are given for closing due to inclement weather. 
Can parents stay and observe?

Parent visiting day is listed in the newsletter. Parents are welcomed to wait in our waiting rooms but are not permitted into the dance room during class.
What should my child wear to class?

We do not require a uniform for any of our classes except the Pre Pointe,Pointe & Hip Hop. All students are required to wear dance clothes and shoes starting October in all classes with no restriction on color or style. Students that cannot tie their tap shoes must have their shoes secured with elastic or can purchase a pair of tap ties from the studio.  

What if my child misses a class?

Any missed class may be made up in any class of the same level. See the teacher for your child make-up schedule. There are no adjustments for missed classes to tuition.
When is tuition due?

Tuition is due during the first week of classes each month. There is a $ 15.00 late fee charged after the 15th of the month. Please check the Tuition Page for a complete list of the studio financial policies. Students will be given a tuition statement and monthly newsletter the last week of classes for the following month.
Are students allowed to bring food & drink?

No food or gum is allowed in the dance rooms. Students are allowed to have snacks and drinks in the waiting rooms only.

What if my child loses an item?

Lost and Found items are placed in the Lost & Found Box in the upstairs dance room.
Is there a Recital?

Yes,our recital is held in June in Centennial Hall at The Haverford School. Check the September Newsletter for the June rectal date. All students are invited to take part in the recital but it is not mandatory. There are required to purchase costumes for the recital. Please check the Recital Page for further recital information. 
For what holidays do you close?

The studio will be closed Halloween,Thanksgiving, Memorial Day Weekend, Winter Break and Spring Break. Please see the September Newsletter for complete list of dates.
Does JSD have birthday parties?

Yes, we do provide a Birthday Party service that can be scheduled by contacting the dance school. Further information is available on the web site.
